A French triumph

Winner of the Best Director award at the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival, Things to Come is an incredible story from French writer and director Mia Hansen-Løve. Starring Oscar nominee Isabelle Huppert in what has been called her greatest performance to date, it follows the tale of a woman who finds the entire life she’s worked to build crumbling down around her. Battling with touchingly relatable issues in her work life as a philosophy teacher, as well as in her home and personal lives, the film is filled with poignant moments of self-discovery and heartbreaking honesty, yet manages to remain both liberating and touching. A thrilling coming of age film in a whole new age bracket, it’s one not to be missed.
