Brunch is best!

As a private chef, Alix Verrips spent 15 years in the yachting industry cooking for royalty, the rich, celebs and oligarchs and has travelled the world. Her book, Brunch Across 11 Countries is a collection of delectable dishes that can just as well be served for breakfast, lunch or dinner. From Bahamian Johnny cakes to 4th of July firecracker hotdogs, American pie and a bloody Mary with bacon, she cooks her way from England and Australia to the Greek Isles, Mexico, Africa and Spain, among other destinations. We fancied sesame prawn toast, seafood paella, sweet potato fish cakes, swoonworthy tarte Tropeziénne, classic currant scones, chocolate wontons (would you believe!) and, closer to home, biltong, mealie and cheese muffins, along with piri-piri prawn lollipops.
