For special occasions

Stark-Condé – a lovely boutique family winery in the Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch – have released new vintages of their flagship Cabernet Sauvignon and their estate white blend. And believe us when we say they’re worth looking out for. The Three Pines Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, named after the three old pine trees that look out over the vineyards and winery, was awarded a whopping 95 points by Tim Atkin in his 2016 South African Wine Report. It’s the 15th vintage of this wine and is, according to winemaker José Condé, one of his finest to date. All violet, cassis and black cherry, it was matured in small French oak barrels for 22 months. You’ll find it for around R295, so a special occasion wine. Details:
