Two fab sips

Easy drinking, funky wine … just what we want for mid-week dinners or Sundays with friends. There are two new Polkadraai wines that fit the bill perfectly. The Stellenbosch Hills 2017 Polkadraai Pinotage/Merlot is perfect to enjoy when you’re snuggled up beside a roaring fire this winter. Serve it with delicious bakes like moussaka or a cheesy Parmigiana, a hearty beef goulash or springbok casserole. The 2018 Polkadraai Chenin Blanc/Sauvignon Blanc is just sunshine-in-a-bottle and pairs brilliantly with dishes like honey-roasted duck, vegetable risotto or luscious paella. Both are hugely affordable at around R44.50 a bottle. And besides being fab wines, it’s good to know that a percentage of all Polkadraai wine sales is donated to the Vlottenburg Primary School through the Polka Kids Community Project of which Stellenbosch Hills has been a patron since 2008. The school has some 400 learners, including the younger children of most of the vineyard and winery employees at Stellenbosch Hills.
